January down

First of all I would like to apologize to any readers still out there.  What sounded like a great idea at Christmas may be a little harder than we originally thought.  But in our defense, January was pretty crazy.

We rang in 2013 with a visit from Cheryl, Paul and Grammy in Norfolk.  It was a great having them all down here for the week.  We did some of the usual tourist stuff around the area such as Yorktown and Colonial Williamsburg.  The weather was a bit chilly but that group is pretty tough.

The day after our Maine visitors left; Chrissy, Janelle and I got packed and jumped on a plane to head to Savannah, GA for a software conference (yuck).  While I spent the week in the conference, Chrissy and Janelle got to explore the sites of this charming Southern town.

Immediately from Savannah we three flew to Oregon for more software training (yuck yuck).  The cross country flight was long but otherwise uneventful.  We couldn't have asked for more beautiful weather while attending the training in Newport.  We had a great hotel room overlooking the beach and were able to see the sun shining every day (a rarity on the Oregon Coast for the month of January).

 When the week of training finally finished we headed inland to my parents house for a week of R&R.  Chrissy and Janelle both got a little taste of the farm life.

=But most important of all we got a chance to hang out with family.  The carousel with cousins Madeline and Juliette was a blast!

After about three weeks away from home we flew back east to settle back into our normal routine.  Janelle must have been tired out by her cousins because she almost slept through the entire flight. She's now back to her normal self which apparently means dancing to the pro bowl.
